This is probably the sixth study I've either seen or heard in past 12 months. Thats like one every second month. Some consultants are making good money either re-writing reports or doing same street interviews over again..=) Just kidding. But the funny part is that there's less seldom any real good proposal included. One thing I would like to see some big telco giant or operator alliance or something coming out with a public view instead of pure expert or security company opinion. Theres many moving parts and lot of differences in the mobile world. Take Japan or US for example.

Have a good one - nice blog by the way. Greetings from warmer and warmer Helsinki, spring is coming.. finally! =)

If anyone needs to renew their McAfee antivirus subscription (or from any other mainstream vendor), remember this rule of thumb: "it is always cheaper to buy new than to renew":

Hi Flosse,

Yes, I guess support costs are lower than on the windows side. And from a risk management perspective, some companies (banks/financial institutions) will insist on having mobile AV even if no threats exist for the platform they are using (eg. S60 3rd Ed).

You got to love marketing... "study".. I am sure it was a study... I think they call it market intelligence. And with the current "scare" of security, mobile security is a good area to bank on for a AV vendor.. not much definition updates etc....
